Mobile money transfer from the Netherlands can start with your Dutch bank account or a euro-wallet balance and finish in a supported wallet abroad.
Services accepting iDEAL | Wero let you authorise funding through Dutch online banking, while Orange Money Europe offers its own stored sending balance.
My suggestion is to compare those funding choices with the account your recipient uses, rather than add a new wallet simply to make the payment.

Orange Money Europe lets you hold euros and send to supported accounts abroad.
DANA delivers rupiah for spending and payments in Indonesia.
GCash gives your recipient a peso balance in the Philippines.
M-PESA supports payments and agent access in Kenya.
Orange Money in Senegal and bKash in Bangladesh offer further wallet destinations.
iDEAL | Wero can fund supported transfer services from your Dutch bank account.
What is a mobile wallet?
A mobile wallet keeps money in an account you access through your phone, with payments and withdrawals depending on that particular service.
Paying with your phone does not always involve a wallet balance, especially when the payment comes straight from your bank account.
Mobile wallets
Orange Money Europe holds a euro balance, while your recipient’s DANA account holds Indonesian rupiah for payments in Indonesia.
If you want to keep several currencies yourself, multi-currency accounts in the Netherlands answer a different need from these local-currency wallets.
Mobile money
Mobile money often connects payments to a registered phone number, allowing the recipient to use a mobile account without sharing an IBAN.
M-PESA in Kenya is an example, with local merchants and agents helping the recipient spend or withdraw the balance.
Money transfer apps
International money transfer apps arrange the currency conversion and overseas delivery, which can end in a wallet, bank account or cash collection.
You can use Remitly to send to DANA without opening your own DANA account or holding rupiah beforehand.
Mobile banking apps
Your banking app moves money held at your bank, including direct payments and the funding step for an international transfer.
Tikkie creates a payment request linked to bank payments, rather than giving you a separate wallet balance to send overseas.
Apple Pay and Google Pay
Apple Pay and Google Pay let you use a linked card for a supported payment, including funding certain international transfer services.
Your recipient still needs a separate receiving account, because paying through Apple Pay does not create an overseas wallet for them.
Who handles the international transfer?
For a payment through Remitly, Wise or WorldRemit, the sending company takes your euros and handles the international transfer and tracking.
The destination wallet receives local currency, then its own charges apply when your recipient spends, withdraws or moves the money again.
For example, sending money from the Netherlands to the Philippines can end directly in GCash instead of a Philippine bank account.
A transfer marked delivered by the sending company should correspond to money credited to that wallet, rather than a promise that cash has been collected.
Wallet options for your payment
The right choice starts with the account your recipient already uses, because opening another wallet can add verification and withdrawal steps.

Orange Money Europe
Orange Money Europe lets you send from a euro wallet
You can open Orange Money Europe from the Netherlands using a compatible phone and accepted identification, without needing an Orange mobile subscription.
Card top-ups through the app are free, giving you a balance you can use for supported payments abroad.
I like this option if you want to keep a separate sending balance, although its account allowances suit regular family payments more than large transfers.
Sending money
For Senegal, a transfer of €1 to €100 costs €2.49, while €100.01 to €800 costs €3.79.
Those Senegal prices include the recipient’s withdrawal charge, so compare the final amount available rather than only the sending fee.
Transfers between supported European Orange Money Europe accounts carry no sending fee, which can work when you both use the service.
Receiving money
You can receive into your European euro account from another supported Orange Money Europe account, rather than into an African Orange Money balance.
Your full account can hold €5,000, with top-ups limited to €1,000 each and €3,000 per day and month.
The European account and Orange Money in Senegal are separate products, even though the similar names can make them look interchangeable.
DANA in Indonesia
DANA suits a recipient who pays from their phone in Indonesia
DANA supports local transfers and merchant payments, including QR payments that let your recipient use the money without withdrawing cash first.
Your recipient needs an active account, and a Premium account gives them substantially more room for an overseas family payment.
Sending to DANA from the Netherlands
From the Netherlands, Remitly and WorldRemit can deliver rupiah directly into DANA using the phone number registered to the recipient’s account.
Choose DANA as the receiving service, rather than use a generic bank transfer and expect the recipient to find it inside their wallet.
For €500 sent to DANA, the comparison below shows the amount received and the international transfer costs.

How your recipient receives and uses the money
DANA Premium can hold Rp20 million and accept Rp40 million in incoming funds during a month, with existing activity counting towards that allowance.
WorldRemit separately limits an individual Indonesian wallet payment to Rp10 million, so the sending company’s cap can be lower than the wallet’s capacity.
I suggest a bank deposit for a payment that cannot fit those allowances, rather than splitting it across unverified accounts.
GCash in the Philippines
GCash works well when your family pays bills from their balance
GCash lets your recipient use pesos for local payments or move the money to a Philippine bank account.
That avoids a separate bank-to-wallet transfer when the money was intended for wallet spending in the first place.
Sending to GCash from the Netherlands
Wise, Remitly, TapTap Send and WorldRemit support GCash delivery from the Netherlands, with the receiving mobile number identifying the account.
Here is how much a €500 payment puts into GCash, including each company’s fee and exchange rate.

How your recipient receives and uses the money
The recipient needs a verified GCash account with room for the payment, and their own monthly activity also uses that allowance.
Wise and WorldRemit each cap wallet payments at ₱50,000, even when the recipient’s GCash account can hold more than that amount.
For a first international payment through TapTap Send, your recipient may need to accept the remittance terms inside GCash before accessing the money.
M-PESA in Kenya
M-PESA gives your recipient more than a cash collection point
M-PESA can pay merchants and bills, send local payments or withdraw cash through agents, so the balance can cover different household needs.
The recipient must have an active Safaricom M-PESA account, with the registered name and mobile number matching your transfer details.
Sending to M-PESA from the Netherlands
You can send through Wise, Remitly, TapTap Send or WorldRemit, selecting M-PESA delivery rather than a Kenyan bank account.
The following €500 payment examples compare money arriving in M-PESA, rather than the price of cash collection at a branch.

How your recipient receives and uses the money
Wallet delivery can arrive within minutes, although the sending service still needs to receive and process your euro payment first.
Wise limits M-PESA payments to KSh250,000 per transfer and KSh500,000 per day, alongside the recipient’s remaining account allowance.
If your recipient needs cash, the agent’s available cash and withdrawal charge affect how much they can use immediately.
Orange Money in Senegal
Orange Money suits spending locally after the transfer arrives
Orange Money in Senegal holds CFA francs, with payments and withdrawals available through its local account and agent network.
Your recipient may access the same Orange Money balance through Max it, so that app name does not mean they need a different transfer.
Sending to Orange Money from the Netherlands
Remitly, TapTap Send and Western Union offer Orange Money delivery, allowing you to pay in euros while the recipient receives CFA francs.
TapTap Send charges a €2 transfer fee from the Netherlands, with the exchange rate also affecting the final wallet amount.
For €500, compare the Orange Money receiving amount below before deciding which service to use.

How your recipient receives and uses the money
A first international Orange Money payment may require the recipient to upgrade or identify their account at an agency before accessing it.
I'd say resolve that before an urgent payment, because a quick transfer cannot remove a receiving account restriction.
TapTap Send allows up to CFA2 million for this wallet, subject to the recipient’s account status and remaining allowance.
bKash in Bangladesh
bKash has a lower-cost withdrawal option for remittances
Your recipient can spend from bKash or withdraw the payment, with designated ATM withdrawals costing Tk7 for each Tk1,000 of remittance money.
At a saved Priyo Agent, cashing out costs Tk13.95 per Tk1,000 within the Tk50,000 monthly allowance, while other agents charge Tk18.50 per Tk1,000.
Sending to bKash from the Netherlands
Wise, Remitly, WorldRemit and TapTap Send can send from the Netherlands into bKash, with the recipient receiving taka.
These €500 figures show the international costs before the recipient chooses whether to spend the balance or withdraw it.

How your recipient receives and uses the money
The bKash account must be verified and active, using the mobile number registered to your recipient rather than a relative’s number.
For Tk5,000 of remittance cash, the designated ATM charge is Tk35, compared with Tk69.75 at an eligible Priyo Agent.
Ask your recipient which withdrawal option they can reach before paying more for a transfer that leaves them travelling further for cash.
Local payments and funding from a Dutch account
For splitting a restaurant bill or paying someone in the Netherlands, a bank payment or Tikkie request usually avoids unnecessary wallet funding.
Tikkie payments can reach your account within seconds when your bank supports Instant Payments, although the request itself is not a stored balance.
For an international wallet payment, iDEAL | Wero can instead connect your Dutch banking app to the sending company’s funding step.
The iDEAL transition to Wero is gradual, so the combined name can appear while familiar bank authorisation remains part of the payment.
Funding option
What happens
iDEAL \
Wero through a supporting service
Authorise payment from your Dutch bank account
Debit card
Pay the transfer company from the linked account
Euro balance already held with the sending service
Use available funds without a fresh bank payment
Cash at a Western Union agent
Pay in person for an eligible wallet destination
Western Union, WorldRemit and TapTap Send support iDEAL | Wero funding, so a card is not your only way to arrange wallet delivery.
When a bank deposit is a better fit
A wallet is worth using when it matches how your recipient spends, rather than simply because you arranged the transfer on a phone.
For sending money to Suriname, check whether your recipient wants their bank account funded instead of assuming a foreign wallet option exists.
The same distinction applies to payments to Morocco or Turkey, where selecting bank delivery can be simpler for a recipient paying from their account.
Funding time, transfer time and access to the money
Getting your payment to the transfer company and crediting the recipient’s wallet are different stages, so an instant wallet deposit does not make every bank payment instant.
An available euro balance or promptly authorised iDEAL payment can avoid waiting for a separate ordinary bank transfer to reach the sending service.
Verification may still delay processing, particularly when the company needs identification or information about the source of a larger payment.
After delivery, using the wallet balance can be quicker than travelling to an agent, especially outside opening hours or when the agent lacks cash.
If speed is the main reason you are choosing, instant international money transfers depend on the full payment process and the recipient’s account readiness.
Mobile money transfer limits
The amount you pay in euros and the wallet’s local-currency allowance need to fit together, including money already held in the receiving account.
Limit
Example
Your euro wallet funding
Orange Money Europe full-account top-ups up to €1,000 each
International company’s receiving cap
Wise GCash payments up to ₱50,000 each
Destination wallet capacity
DANA Premium balance up to Rp20 million
Monthly incoming funds
DANA Premium incoming allowance Rp40 million
A €500 comparison is an example amount, while your own payment must fit the current quote and the account’s remaining capacity.
For larger payments, bank delivery can avoid a wallet cap without asking the recipient to open several accounts or work around verification.
How to make a mobile money transfer
Agree where the money should arrive
Ask for the wallet name and registered number, then confirm whether your recipient wants to spend the balance or withdraw it.
Choose your euro payment method
Use an available balance, iDEAL | Wero or an accepted card, checking the total cost before choosing a payment method solely for speed.
Match the recipient’s name and allowance
Copy the name registered to the wallet and confirm there is space for the incoming local-currency amount before authorising payment.
Keep the transfer reference
Save the receipt and tracking number, so you can contact the sending company if the wallet balance does not update.
What if the payment is pending, missing or sent to the wrong account?
Contact the sending company first if it is still processing your payment, using the transfer reference rather than starting another identical transfer.
If tracking shows delivery but the balance is missing, your recipient should also contact the wallet with the transaction details.
For a wrong number or name, report the mistake immediately, because recovery becomes harder once the money has been credited and used.
Is mobile money transfer safe?
Use a regulated sending service and the recipient’s real registered account, rather than someone offering an informal exchange through messages.
The DNB register helps you check payment and electronic-money businesses operating in the Netherlands, including firms authorised in another European country.
A wallet balance is not automatically a Dutch bank deposit, so do not assume every mobile account has Dutch deposit-guarantee protection.
Verify a changed recipient number separately, especially if a WhatsApp message claims an urgent payment is needed or asks you to bypass account checks.
Compare the cost of sending euros abroad alongside the receiving wallet’s separate withdrawal charges before deciding how the money should arrive.
Compare transfers from the Netherlands
Enter your EUR amount and destination to compare available transfer rates, then check wallet delivery with your selected service.
Our methodology & why trust us
We selected wallets that answer a different task from choosing an international app, including a euro wallet you can fund and overseas accounts that receive local currency.
Our comparisons use named services eligible for the destination wallet, with static wallet charges kept separate from the international transfer data.
We assessed Dutch funding choices alongside each wallet’s account limits and withdrawal charges, so the comparisons relate to the payment described.
