For a smaller weekday exchange, I suggest considering Revolut when its remaining allowance covers the payment and the complete quote beats the alternatives.
For larger supported bank payments, Atlantic Money's fixed €3 standard fee deserves a place alongside Wise's bank-funded pricing and Currencies Direct's personal quote.
For family payments, Taptap Send and Remitly can offer a better fit when the recipient needs a mobile wallet or cash collection.
The cheapest choice depends on the receiving currency, payment method and amount, rather than one company winning every transfer from the Netherlands.

My cost picks for different payments
Revolut
Lower conversion charges when your weekday allowance is unused
I think Revolut is worth considering for a smaller weekday exchange when you already have the account and enough of your monthly allowance remains.
Standard includes €1,000 of monthly exchanges before its excess charge applies, allowing an eligible payment to avoid that particular conversion fee.
The allowance does not make every international transfer free, because the sending charge depends on the recipient and currency.
Payments to another Revolut user and eligible euro SEPA transfers are free, while other international bank transfers can carry a separate fee.
Standard charges 1% on exchanges above the allowance and a separate 1% weekend fee, so check your earlier activity before calculating the cost.
If you have already used €800 of the allowance, a €500 weekday exchange leaves €300 above the limit, creating a €3 excess fee before any sending charge.
Revolut uses its own exchange rate, which means avoiding an exchange fee still requires comparing the final receiving amount.
I'd say convert during the weekday window when timing permits, then compare the complete transfer quote with the other options for your destination.
Wise
Bank-funded conversion with discounts on higher monthly volume
Wise uses the mid-market exchange rate and a separate fee, making the conversion cost visible when you compare bank-funded payments.
I suggest choosing the funding method carefully, because paying from a bank account generally costs less than using a card.
Dutch iDEAL funding is also available, but compare its quote with a regular bank transfer rather than assuming every bank payment has the same price.
The fee changes with the amount and currency, so a price that works for euros to pounds may not lead for another destination.
Wise automatically discounts qualifying conversions above €22,000 of completed volume within a calendar month, with the first part charged at the normal rate.
Several completed conversions can count towards that threshold, so you do not need to send everything in one payment to qualify.
Only the portion in the higher tier receives the lower fee, which prevents applying the discount to your entire monthly total.
I'd say compare the final bank-funded quote, including any discount already earned, especially when you are moving savings through several payments in the same month.
Atlantic Money
A fixed €3 charge for supported bank payments
Atlantic Money charges €3 for a standard transfer and passes on its live institutional exchange rate without adding a currency margin.
That fixed charge takes a smaller share of your budget as the transfer grows, making supported larger bank payments its strongest cost role.
For comparison, €3 is 0.6% of €500 but only 0.15% of €2,000, before any optional extra service charges.
I suggest choosing standard delivery when the deadline allows it, because Express adds 0.1% of the amount to the fixed fee.
When markets are closed, the free next-available-rate option leaves the final rate unknown until they reopen.
Choosing the last known rate adds another 0.1%, and a weekend Express payment requires that option as well as the Express charge.
Those extras can change the comparison on a larger payment, even though the standard price remains fixed.
Dutch residents are eligible, but funding requires a bank transfer and the recipient needs a supported bank account and currency.
It cannot replace a cash or mobile-wallet service, so confirm the route before treating €3 as an available price for your payment.
Taptap Send
No separate transfer fee on many family-payment routes
Taptap Send can keep the fixed part of a small family payment down on routes where it charges through the exchange rate alone.
Dutch iDEAL funding also lets you pay through your bank without needing a separate credit card for the transfer.
For example, three separate €3 charges total €9, while one transfer costs €3, saving €6 from the fixed-fee component alone.
I suggest using that saving in the comparison only when the recipient can wait and one larger payment serves the same purpose.
Combining payments does not remove the exchange-rate margin, so check the final quote before assuming that the overall saving is also €6.
CurrencyFair's margin varies with the currency pair, which makes an average percentage a poor substitute for the price of your payment.
Bank funding and bank-account delivery also mean you need to account for any charges your own bank or receiving bank adds.
For smaller frequent payments that cannot wait, repeatedly paying the fixed fee can weaken its cost advantage.
I suggest comparing one consolidated bank payment with the alternatives using the same euro budget and receiving currency.
Currencies Direct
Larger payments without a separate sending fee
Currencies Direct has no separate transfer fee, making the exchange rate the main company cost to compare on a larger bank payment.
I'd say ask for a personal quote when moving savings or making a property payment, then compare the amount received with other bank-funded options.

A small difference in the rate can outweigh a small sending fee when the amount is large, so the final payout should lead the decision.
For example, a 1% conversion cost on €25,000 is €250, while 0.2% is €50, before any separate charges.
Those figures illustrate the effect of a margin rather than the actual price of a Currencies Direct transfer.
Its account manager can discuss the payment and timing, but having that support does not automatically produce a better exchange rate.
Ask whether receiving or intermediary banks could deduct money after the transfer leaves Currencies Direct, especially when an invoice requires an exact amount.
I suggest comparing quotes for the same payment close together, rather than choosing a broker solely because its own transfer fee is zero.
The service's cost advantage depends on the quoted exchange rate for your amount and currency.
Keep the cost comparison tied to the payment you need
Euro SEPA payments may need no extra service
For euros paid into an eligible SEPA account, I suggest checking your existing Dutch bank before adding a currency-conversion service.
A payment in Polish zloty, pounds or dollars is a different price question, even when the destination also accepts euro transfers.
Compare the currency the recipient will spend, so a second conversion at their bank does not undo a cheaper-looking sending quote.
Your iDEAL payment and the overseas transfer have separate timing
Dutch bank funding can avoid card charges, but check whether iDEAL and a standard bank transfer produce the same final quote.
With Wise, smaller iDEAL payments can reach the company instantly, while larger amounts can take additional working days before the overseas stage starts.
I'd say check that complete delivery estimate before choosing the lowest fee for a payment that must arrive by a particular date.
For card funding, include any extra payment charge or issuer cost rather than assume approving the transfer in an app makes borrowing free.
Repeat payments need repeat prices
A first-transfer offer can give a better payout once without establishing the normal price of sending money every month.
Check the exchange rate and fee after the offer, using the receiving method your family will continue to need.
For cash pickup or wallet delivery, compare those quotes with the same method rather than substitute a cheaper bank deposit the recipient cannot use.
A wallet's cash-withdrawal charge may also reduce spendable money after delivery, so ask the recipient about that cost before deciding.
Moving savings or paying a larger invoice
On €25,000, a 0.1-percentage-point difference in conversion cost represents €25, before any sending or receiving charges are considered.
That is an illustration of how the rate affects a payment, rather than a measured margin for one of the companies here.
I suggest comparing the total quote from a bank-funded app with Currencies Direct's personal quote, including any outside-bank deductions needed to settle an invoice.
Ask whether the receiving bank charges for an incoming wire, especially when the invoice requires an exact amount rather than an approximate conversion.
Enter the total euros you can spend, checking whether the sending fee is included in that amount or charged separately.
Match the currency and receiving method
Compare the same destination currency and delivery method, using bank, wallet or cash instructions the recipient can use.
Compare the complete payout
Check how much arrives after conversion and sending charges, then add any receiving-bank or wallet-withdrawal cost outside the company's quote.
Check your allowance or promotional terms
For Revolut, include earlier exchanges in your allowance check, and separate a first-transfer promotion from the normal cost of repeating the payment.
Confirm the payment method and arrival estimate
Choose the lowest total quote that still meets the deadline, checking how long the funding stage takes before the international delivery begins.
Check your own amount and destination
Use the form below to check your payment, then confirm the exact funding and receiving methods before choosing from the available quotes.

Our methodology & why trust us
The cost selections use Dutch eligibility and current fee conditions, covering euro-funded overseas payments rather than applying a generic global ranking.
Our live results were checked across eight destinations, with a separate larger-payment check and official terms used to establish fixed fees, exchange allowances and discounts.
The automatic comparison shows available live quotes, while services outside that feed need a matching quote directly rather than a fabricated price table.
I assess the complete recipient amount and relevant funding or receiving costs, with promotional and allowance-based savings separated from the normal repeat-payment price.
