Neema and myGMT are the stronger choices when you need cash or wage funding without relying on an Israeli bank account.
I suggest considering Wise for bank-funded payments and foreign income when you have the Israeli identification its local service requires.
Remitly adds card-funded family payouts, Xe combines currency alerts with transfer tracking, and Leumi keeps foreign balances inside your existing bank account.

The best apps for sending shekels abroad
A bank transfer, a salary-funded payment and cash loading use different mobile workflows, so I'd say choose the funding route before the app.

Wise keeps foreign income ready for your next overseas payment

Wise lets you receive supported foreign payments through account details, keep the currency and send or spend it later.
In my opinion, that combination fits when your income and overseas bills share a currency, because converting through shekels each time adds another exchange.
You can add the bank recipient, arrange an own-account ILS bank transfer and follow the payment's progress in the app.
The Israeli service requires two Israeli-issued identity documents, so a foreign passport alone does not provide the same route as Neema or myGMT.
Its multi-currency account in Israel holds supported foreign balances, with receiving fees depending on the currency and payment rail.
The ILS receiving details accept international payments, so they do not replace a domestic Israeli bank account for ordinary local transfers.
A supported card can spend an available matching balance, but an Israel-issued digital card cannot be used for domestic Israeli payments.
The account has no subscription or holding charge, with mid-market conversion and a separate payment fee.
I suggest using the card and receiving features for overseas use, rather than treating them as a replacement for every local bank function.
The ILS3,500 and ILS35,000 quotes show the transfer fee and recipient amount, separately from account receiving or card costs.

Remitly lets you select bank deposit, cash collection or a supported mobile wallet before entering and saving the family recipient.
The app keeps transfer status and delivery notices together, which helps when the recipient needs the collection information rather than another app account.
Ordinary Israel online transfers use supported debit or credit cards, with the fee and arrival estimate tied to the selected receiving method.
I think it is worth considering when a family member needs a cash or wallet option rather than a bank-only payment.
Its separate SalaryCard route can receive employer wages and supports cash loading at eligible SuperPharm locations.
That route can help with recurring wage remittances, but its fee offer is separate from an ordinary card-funded transfer.
The conversion rate includes a margin, while a transfer fee, card-issuer charge or receiving-method cost can change the final payment.
I'd say compare the regular quote after an introductory offer, especially when the same family payment repeats each month.
Remitly’s figures below put the selected quote’s fee and conversion beside its delivery estimate at the same shekel amounts.
Send to a supported family cash or wallet recipient
You need foreign-currency holding and receiving details
Keep saved recipients and delivery notices together
Your credit-card issuer adds an expensive charge
Use the eligible SalaryCard wage route
The required recipient method is unsupported
Xe
Xe brings currency alerts and transfer tracking into the same app
Available on
iOS and Android

4.5/5 (392k reviews)
Xe lets you monitor currency charts, set rate alerts and follow an overseas bank payment without switching between separate currency and transfer tools.
I suggest considering that combination for a planned bill when you can choose the sending day, rather than an urgent cash payout.
Push notifications cover transfer progress as well as alerts, and biometric login helps you return to the account without retyping your password.
You can supply identity documents through the app and access customer support when the payment or account checks need attention.
For an Israeli account, confirm the accepted shekel funding instructions with Xe before paying, rather than assuming every advertised card method applies locally.
The currency converter and rate alerts use mid-market rates, while your transfer uses Xe's sending rate with its exchange-rate margin.
I'd say treat an alert as a reason to check the payable quote, because it does not lock the converter rate for your transfer.
The app is free to download, with transfer fees depending on the route and method, and possible charges from intermediary or receiving banks.
The ILS3,500 and ILS35,000 bank-payment examples show how the sending rate and fee affect the amount received in supported currencies.
Follow currency charts and alerts before a planned payment
Your recipient needs a verified local cash-payout route
Receive transfer updates through push notifications
You need cash or salary loading without a bank account
Contact support while managing the transfer on your phone
Another accepted quote delivers more after costs
Neema
Neema lets you send wages or cash without an Israeli bank account
Available on

Neema can receive your employer's salary and fund transfers through cash, an Israeli bank or an accepted debit, credit or salary card.
I think it is worth considering when your money starts as wages or cash and opening an Israeli bank account is unnecessary for the payment.
The app creates a cash-deposit code for a supported location, then keeps the balance ready for your overseas order.
You enter the recipient and receiving method, review the amount and purpose, and keep the SMS transaction reference alongside recent-transfer status.
Supported destinations offer bank, cash, wallet or card delivery, and the recipient does not need a Neema account.
You can hold ILS, USD, EUR and GBP balances, but automatic balance priority determines the money used for a transfer.
That means you cannot freely choose the funding balance, and those wallets do not provide ordinary foreign receiving bank details.
Neema charges no own fee for ILS deposits, while a card issuer can add its own charge.
Sending fees start at US$3 and vary by destination and method, with the exchange-rate margin affecting the amount received.
Neema is worth it

myGMT lets you create a cash-deposit request on your phone and fund it through a supported agent, rather than start the overseas order entirely at a counter.
You can also use accepted cards, salary cards or the Postal Bank funding route, with identity or passport verification before sending.
I like the combination of multilingual assistance and saved recipients when you want help locally while arranging later payments through the app.
You choose the receiving method and review the quote, with supported bank, cash, wallet or card delivery depending on the country.
The app keeps transactions and deposit information together, so the funding visit does not replace your mobile payment record.
Its optional Visa product adds card ordering and controls, but approval and card costs are separate from the remittance itself.
Free download and registration do not remove the sending commission or conversion cost, which are quoted for the route and receiving method.
I suggest assessing the recipient amount against Neema or Remitly for the same payout, especially when local funding convenience changes your choice.

Currencies Direct lets you check rates, manage supported currency wallets and add bank recipients through its transfer app.
I suggest considering it for a planned larger payment when an account manager can help with the funding instructions or a foreign-bank question.
You fund through the assigned bank instructions and reference, then follow the transfer status beside your account activity.
ILS is supported through the app, but the wallet is not an ordinary domestic Israeli account with local receiving details.
Its card is unavailable for Israeli issuance, so I'd say use the app for bank payments rather than build a travel-card account around it.
Currencies Direct has no transfer fee, while its exchange-rate margin covers the service and third-party bank charges can reduce the amount delivered.
For a substantial payment, the accepted rate and bank funding cost are more informative than a zero-fee label alone.
The ILS3,500 and ILS35,000 quotes show how Currencies Direct’s exchange rate affects the amount received, even without a transfer fee.
Manage a planned larger bank payment on your phone
You need an Israeli-issued card from the service
Use account support for funding or recipient questions
Your recipient needs cash collection
Keep supported currency and transfer records together
Bank funding costs erase the conversion advantage

If you already have Leumi, its app lets you view your foreign-currency account and arrange supported foreign-currency transfers without another remittance login.
The interface is available in English as well as Hebrew and other supported languages, which helps when the payment details are unfamiliar.
I think it is worth considering when foreign salary or pension payments already arrive at Leumi and you want to retain the currency for an overseas bill.
Use the foreign-currency IBAN for those receipts, because it differs from the shekel account's IBAN.
That can make Leumi a multi-currency account in Israel option, although foreign-balance card debiting needs the appropriate card arrangement.
The bank's digital currency conversion has an exchange-commission discount, which does not make its exchange-rate spread or overseas wire free.
Bank conversion and transfer charges, underlying account costs and possible intermediary deductions remain part of the accepted quote.
I suggest comparing that total with a remittance app for a one-off payment, while retaining the bank for the balances and records you already manage there.
Leumi is worth it

Keep foreign income inside your Leumi relationship
You need cash funding without a bank account
Use an English interface for foreign account records
You want an unrestricted matching-currency travel card

The bank charges exceed the separate app quote
Cheapest apps for sending from Israel
For a bank payment, I'd say judge the delivered amount after the exchange-rate margin, transfer fee and funding cost.
For cash or salary-funded sending, Neema, myGMT and Remitly need to be assessed using the same receiving method rather than a bank-only substitute.
The cheapest way to send money from Israel can change with the funding route and amount, even when you keep the same family recipient.

Choose around your identification and funding
Wise's Israeli service requires Israeli-issued documents, while Neema and myGMT provide passport-based routes for eligible workers.
An app available to download does not change which identification its local payment service accepts.
If your money starts as cash or employer wages, I suggest choosing the appropriate salary or cash-loading route before creating the overseas order.
If it is already in your Israeli bank, Wise, a supported broker app or Leumi can avoid a separate cash visit.
A balance wallet is different from foreign receiving details
Neema's supported currency balances help manage money before sending, but they do not give you an ordinary overseas bank account for incoming salary.
Wise provides supported foreign receiving instructions, while Leumi retains foreign currency through its own foreign-account details.
I'd say choose based on the currency you receive and later pay, rather than the number of balances displayed in the app.
For a domestic payment, bit, PayBox or your bank app can cover the local task without turning it into an international remittance.
Keep the recipient method and reference together
A cash recipient needs the collection reference and an available outlet, while a bank recipient needs the exact account details.
For a supported wallet or card payout, enter the identifier the chosen service requests rather than substitute a bank-account number.
myGMT's current Western Union access is separate from the discontinued postal Western Union service, so an older outlet instruction can send you to the wrong place.
I suggest saving the app confirmation and using its support route when a payment needs tracing, rather than creating a second transfer before checking the first.
How to send money abroad through an app
Choose the receiving method
Choose the recipient’s bank, cash, wallet or card option before entering the amount and checking the quote.
Complete local verification
Use the identification accepted by the local service, then complete its verification before relying on a transfer deadline.
Fund through the matching route
Pay through your own bank, an accepted card, available salary balance or the supported cash-deposit process for that app.
Keep the confirmation
Save the reference and recipient instructions, then follow the app status until the money is available to collect or use.
Use the comparison form for your amount and destination, then choose the app whose identification and funding route fit your payment.
Compare transfers from Israel
Enter your destination and amount to compare available ILS transfer fees, exchange rates and recipient amounts.
Our methodology & why trust us
I selected actual Israeli outbound apps around bank payments, worker cash and salary funding, and the recipient methods supported locally.
Our research checked current Israel app listings, regulated execution, mobile functions, identification, funding rules and live shekel results.
I assessed account features and support beside conversion costs and the restrictions that change the way you send.
We may earn commission from some companies, but commercial agreements do not determine my selection or opinions.
