I suggest considering Wise for peso-funded overseas bank payments if you have a valid INE and stay within its monthly funding limit.
If you already have an eligible Santander account, its app removes the bank's own international sending commission, making it worth a price check against Wise.
Western Union adds cash funding and collection, while Revolut puts overseas recipients beside your Mexican peso account and card controls.

Wise
Wise converts bank-funded pesos at the mid-market rate

Wise lets you create a foreign bank recipient, review the conversion and follow the transfer from your phone.
You need Mexican citizenship and a valid INE for the MXN funding route, with payment from your own eligible personal bank account in Mexico.
I think it is worth considering for ordinary overseas bank deposits when you want currency conversion without adding a new banking subscription.
The app gives you funding instructions and a payment reference, then tracks the order after the pesos arrive.
Its external-account funding limit is MXN80,000 per calendar month, so a larger payment can require another service even when split into smaller orders.
Local funding can arrive within seconds, but conversion can take two working days before the destination payment completes.
New Mexican-resident accounts do not get the ordinary holding, foreign receiving details or Wise card available in some other markets.
That makes this a transfer option rather than a new travel account or a place to retain foreign income.
Wise uses the mid-market exchange rate and charges a separate transfer fee, which changes with the amount and currency.
No monthly sending subscription is required, and your recipient receives through a supported bank route rather than cash collection.
At MXN20,000 and MXN75,000, the fee and recipient amount show the cost of using Wise’s mid-market conversion for these routes.

Revolut combines a Mexican peso bank account with local funding, card controls and supported international bank transfers.
You need Mexican nationality, Mexican residence, a valid INE and an age of at least eighteen to open the account.
I suggest considering it when you want those payments alongside everyday banking, rather than another app used only for remittances.
You load the account through its local banking details and SPEI, add an international beneficiary, then approve the amount and currency in the app.
Standard has no monthly commission or minimum balance, while Cuenta Básica does not support international transfers.
Your account type therefore changes whether the overseas payment is available, even though both products use the same app.
Its linked Tarjeta Bancaria en Divisas can hold supported foreign funds for matching card spending and receive supported international payments.
Those foreign funds have a US$10,000 equivalent aggregate cap and are not bank deposits protected by IPAB.
For an external transfer, you must first return those funds to the peso account, so this multi-currency account in Mexico does not send directly from every foreign balance.
The external international fee varies by currency, with a maximum MXN1,000 plus applicable VAT rather than a flat charge on every order.
Conversion and external-bank charges can add to that cost, while the quoted recipient amount lets you judge the actual payment.
You need direct external wires from held foreign funds
Spend supported retained foreign funds by card
Your recipient needs cash collection

Global66 lets you load the account through local funding instructions, then arrange an overseas bank payment from the balance in the app.
You can add the beneficiary yourself or share a link so they complete their banking details, without requiring them to open Global66.
I like that option when the recipient has the correct foreign account information and you want to avoid passing it through messages.
The app shows the transfer quote before you pay, keeps the order record and uses email updates for its progress.
Payments to Global66 contacts are separate from ordinary bank delivery, so choose the recipient's actual receiving route before confirming.
Global Start is advertised as free when you use the product at least monthly, rather than an unconditional promise of free inactive maintenance.
Pro costs US$10 monthly or US$100 annually, while Ultra costs US$25 monthly or US$250 annually, with capped plan benefits.
I'd say pay for a plan only when the benefits cover that subscription cost across your actual transfers.
Sending and conversion costs still depend on the order, so a plan or fee coupon does not guarantee the largest recipient amount.
Its Chilean remitter operates under UAF anti-money-laundering supervision, which does not make foreign balances Mexican bank deposits with deposit protection.
The MXN20,000 and MXN75,000 examples put Global66’s transfer fee and exchange margin beside the amount delivered, before any optional plan cost.
Keep international payment records and status updates
The subscription benefits do not cover their cost

The Western Union Mexico app lets you start a transfer on your phone and pay cash at a participating agent.
You can also fund through supported SPEI or an accepted debit or credit card, keeping the payment record in the same app.
I think it is worth considering when cash starts or ends the transfer, because a bank-only app cannot replace those two needs.
Digital registration uses valid INE or IFE identification with the required verification, rather than an assumed foreign-passport-only signup.
Saved recipients make repeat orders shorter, while the transfer status and MTCN keep the collection information together.
The app also includes agent location and card-scanning functions, which help when funding or recipient access depends on a physical outlet.
Recipient bank, cash or wallet delivery depends on the destination, so select the available receiving method before accepting the order.
Sending fees and the exchange-rate margin vary by route and payment method, with promotional first-transfer pricing separate from regular costs.
A credit card can add cash-advance charges or interest, even when the remittance app accepts the payment.
I'd say check the cash service against the recipient's access needs, rather than assume every OXXO branch can send money abroad.
Western Union is worth it
Find an alternative

A bank-only quote delivers more for your payment

If you already have an active level-four peso Super Cuenta, Santander lets you send abroad through its app without its own sending commission.
You need mobile banking and SuperToken, then register an international contact with their bank and account details.
The app lets you select the peso account, approve the payment and download or share the receipt after confirmation.
I suggest considering that route before paying another bank's fixed wire charge, especially when your account already covers the local banking work.
It supports several foreign payout currencies, including dollars, euros and pounds, rather than separate everyday balances in each currency.
The bank's exchange rate still affects the peso debit, and intermediary or recipient-bank charges can reduce the delivered amount.
That means the zero sending commission is a real saving on one charge, but does not guarantee the cheapest total transfer.
The payment can take minutes to seventy-two business hours, with approval and destination processing separate from entering the order at any time.
Underlying account costs depend on your Super Cuenta product, so opening a new account solely for one payment needs its own cost decision.
Santander is worth it
Find an alternative
Send from an eligible Super Cuenta without Santander's sending commission
Your account does not meet level-four eligibility
Authorise contacts and payments with SuperToken

The BBVA Mexico app lets you arrange a supported international bank transfer from your existing account and keep the payment beside your banking records.
I think it is worth considering when you already manage money there and the account's international quote suits the payment, especially if opening another app adds unnecessary work.
The personal app route supports eligible foreign individuals as well as Mexican customers, subject to the bank's account and verification requirements.
That is a different eligibility route from Wise's Mexican-citizenship requirement, rather than a reason to assume every remittance app accepts the same documents.
Your recipient needs the foreign bank information for the supported currency, without needing a BBVA account simply to receive the wire.
The personal international sending charge is US$10 per operation, separate from applicable VAT, conversion and correspondent or recipient costs.
A fixed charge has more impact on a small payment, so I'd say compare the final foreign amount before using it for repeated low-value transfers.
Your underlying account tariff remains separate, and free app access does not remove the bank's exchange spread or overseas transfer costs.
BBVA is worth it
Find an alternative
Send abroad beside the BBVA account you already use
The fixed charge is too large for a small payment
Use a supported foreign-resident banking relationship
You need cash funding or collection
Keep the bank order and local account records together
Another available quote delivers more money
Banorte
Banorte stores overseas bank recipients for repeat payments

Banorte Móvil lets you register an overseas beneficiary and arrange a supported foreign-bank payment from your own account.
You activate the banking app with the required account details, verification and token, then save the beneficiary's bank, location and account information.
I suggest keeping it for repeat bank orders when you already use Banorte and need a currency offered through its mobile service.
A new beneficiary can have a thirty-minute registration wait, so adding the recipient before the deadline avoids a last-minute first-payment delay.
The international sending window is 08:00 to 20:00, which differs from being able to open the app at any hour.
The bank quotes its conversion before confirmation, with supported currencies selected in the app rather than assumed from a domestic peso transfer.
Its own overseas sending fee is US$30 plus VAT regardless of amount, with exchange costs and possible intermediary deductions separate.
I would avoid that fixed charge for a small remittance when another eligible app provides the same receiving method at a lower total cost.
Advertised destination-bank timing differs by currency, and arrival at that bank is separate from the recipient's final usable balance.
Banorte is worth it
Find an alternative
Reuse a registered overseas bank beneficiary
A small payment cannot justify US$30 plus VAT
Send from the Banorte account you already manage
You need to send outside the international window
Use a supported currency in the mobile service
A new beneficiary is not ready for an urgent order
Cheapest apps for sending from Mexico
I'd say compare the final recipient amount, because a bank's zero sending commission can still come with a higher conversion cost.
Wise and Global66 provide live peso-origin quotes here, while the bank apps and Western Union need their own matching payment quotes.
Wise's MXN route requires Mexican citizenship and a valid INE, while a bank account can have a different route for an eligible foreign resident.
I suggest settling that eligibility before comparing prices, because a good quote cannot fix a signup that your documents cannot complete.
For an account you already use, check whether its level supports international sending, rather than assume a basic peso account includes every app feature.
Santander needs the eligible level-four account and SuperToken, while Revolut Cuenta Básica does not permit the international order.
SPEI funds the payment but does not send it abroad
SPEI moves pesos through Mexico's domestic banking system, including funding an eligible remittance account or transfer order.
The service then converts or pays abroad through its international route, with a separate recipient method and arrival estimate.
For a domestic peso payment, your bank or supported local wallet usually handles the task without that international conversion.
For cash funding, Western Union's participating sending agent is different from an outlet used only to receive remittances.
Foreign balances do not always fund an overseas wire
Revolut's linked foreign funds can support matching card spending, but an external bank payment first needs conversion back into the peso account.
Wise's new Mexican-resident transfer account does not provide the ordinary foreign holding and receiving features sold in other markets.
I'd say choose a multi-currency account in Mexico around the payment you need, including whether it can retain, receive, spend or send the currency.
A transfer wallet, a bank deposit and foreign funds held under a separate contract do not provide the same account functions or protection.
Register the recipient before the payment becomes urgent
Bank apps need the overseas account and routing information, which can include SWIFT, ABA or other destination-specific instructions.
Banorte's first-beneficiary wait and sending window can affect an urgent order, while conversion and recipient-bank processing affect the arrival afterwards.
Global66's beneficiary link lets the recipient supply their own details, while Western Union collection needs the correct name and payment reference.
I suggest keeping those instructions beside the saved recipient, so repeat payments do not depend on finding the original message again.

Our methodology & why trust us
I selected apps that support personal outward payments from Mexico, with local funding and mobile recipient or payment management.
Our research checked Mexican app listings, current account eligibility, regulated services, transfer charges and live peso-origin results.
I assessed mobile functions and recipient access alongside exchange costs, bank-account requirements and the restrictions affecting foreign balances.
