Wise joins Swedish-bank funding with foreign-income balances

Wise lets you fund a supported transfer through Trustly from your own Swedish personal bank account, without copying a separate payment reference manually.
I think it is worth considering when foreign salary or client payments also arrive in supported currencies, because those balances can fund your next overseas bill.
The app manages receiving details, saved bank recipients, scheduled balance payments and card controls beside the transfer status.
Holding the currency also lets you spend it by card without another conversion, making Wise a multi-currency account in Sweden option beyond remittances.
SEK funding must come through a bank within Sweden, with offered bank or card alternatives when Trustly does not support your account.
Scheduled payments use an available Wise balance, so they do not automatically withdraw kronor from your Swedish bank on the sending date.
There is no ordinary monthly subscription, while the physical card costs SEK79 and the digital card is free.
ATM withdrawals are free up to SEK2,700 monthly, then cost 2.69 percent on the excess, with operator charges separate.
Transfers use the mid-market exchange rate plus a variable fee, while incoming wire and card-related costs remain separate.
I'd say use the actual delivery estimate for an urgent payment, because bank funding and conversion happen before the recipient-bank leg.
The SEK10,000 and SEK50,000 examples show Wise’s conversion fee beside the foreign amount received across these selected destinations.
Fund with supported Trustly from your own Swedish bank
You need cash funding or collection
Receive and retain supported foreign income
Your SEK funding account is outside Sweden

The available delivery estimate misses your deadline
Revolut

Revolut keeps supported foreign balances, card controls and international bank recipients beside your everyday account functions in the app.
I suggest considering it when travel spending and repeated foreign bills belong in the same account, especially within your remaining weekday exchange allowance.
You can convert into a balance before the trip, retain incoming supported currencies and spend the matching currency without another conversion.
Receiving details depend on the currency, so multiple balances do not mean a separate local bank account in every destination.
Bank funding and eligible consumer cards provide payment routes, while commercial or non-EEA card loading can add a charge.
Standard has no monthly subscription, with a SEK10,000 rolling-month exchange allowance and a one-percent charge on the excess.
A separate one-percent weekend exchange charge applies on Standard, while other relevant exchange activity also consumes the allowance.
Revolut does not charge for eligible euro SEPA or ordinary Revolut-to-Revolut payments, with other international routes priced separately.
I'd say check the remaining allowance before a transfer, because earlier travel conversion can change the cost even at a smaller amount.
The SEK10,000 and SEK50,000 quotes show Revolut’s transfer charge and exchange margin alongside the recipient amount, with your remaining allowance also affecting conversion.
Manage travel spending beside overseas bank payments
Your Standard exchange exceeds the remaining allowance
Hold supported foreign currencies for later use
You need ordinary cash collection
Use virtual-card controls and saved recipients

WorldRemit lets you use supported Trustly bank funding, accepted cards or Apple Pay for an overseas order from Sweden.
I think it is worth considering when family support includes both money and phone credit, because the app includes airtime top-ups alongside ordinary remittances.
A top-up adds credit to a supported phone number, rather than giving the recipient withdrawable cash or a bank balance.
For money transfers, you choose a supported bank deposit, cash collection or mobile-money recipient, then follow the order and saved recipient record.
Identity and address verification can use accepted passport, driving-licence or residence-permit documents, without assuming every signup requires Swedish BankID.
The Swedish sending limit is SEK80,000 per transfer and per twenty-four hours, with verification and funding requirements still applying.
There is no required monthly banking plan, while transfer fees and the quoted exchange margin vary by destination and receiving method.
Trustly funding and recipient delivery have separate timing, so I'd say use the actual order estimate for urgent family support.
Its Android rating is lower than several alternatives here, so I suggest weighing the phone-credit function against your preferred app and receiving route.

TapTap Send lets you pay from an accepted card in your name and choose a supported bank, wallet or cash payout for family.
I suggest considering it for a regular mobile-wallet recipient when the service supports their actual account and the final amount suits the payment.
You save the recipient and follow the transfer status, rather than send a new set of account instructions for every order.
Eligible Swedish Visa or Mastercard debit, credit and prepaid cards can fund the payment, with card approval completing the sending step.
The recipient does not need a TapTap account, but their wallet, bank or collection details must fit the chosen destination method.
I'd say keep the receiving route consistent when checking repeat prices, because a wallet deposit and cash collection can have different costs.
Most routes price through the exchange-rate margin, while selected destinations add a fixed transfer charge.
A card issuer or recipient withdrawal can add separate costs, and there is no mandatory banking subscription or foreign-income account included.
These selected SEK10,000 and SEK50,000 quotes show TapTap’s sending fee and exchange margin alongside the recipient amount.
I suggest comparing the final recipient amount with the actual bank or card funding method, especially after using a monthly exchange allowance.
For an eligible euro bank payment, a retained euro balance and a new SEK conversion can have different total costs.
The cheapest way to send money abroad from Sweden also depends on whether the recipient needs a bank, wallet or cash payout.

Trustly funding and Swish payments are different
Trustly lets you approve a supported remittance funding payment from your own Swedish bank account, with authorisation through the available bank method.
Wise, WorldRemit and Western Union offer it for supported Swedish accounts, while other apps use the listed card or bank funding route.
Swish can pay a registered user while they travel abroad, but that does not turn the payment into a foreign-bank deposit.
For domestic payments, I'd say keep your existing Swish or bank app, then choose the remittance service for the overseas receiving method.
Bank authorisation does not replace app identification
Approving the funding payment through your bank is separate from completing the remittance provider's identity and address checks.
WorldRemit accepts specified identity documents including an eligible passport or residence permit, so Swedish BankID is not a universal signup requirement for every service.
I suggest completing that verification before an urgent first payment, then using the order's arrival estimate after funding.
For an existing bank, check its foreign-payment activation requirements before assuming the ordinary mobile payment menu covers the overseas order.
Keep a foreign balance when the next bill uses it
Wise and Revolut can retain supported incoming currencies for later spending or bank payments, avoiding a needless conversion through Swedish kronor.
I'd say keep euros for an expected euro bill, rather than convert on receipt and buy them again before paying.
An eligible euro SEPA payment can have no sending charge, but funding it through a new SEK conversion still has an exchange cost.
For airtime support, WorldRemit phone credit serves a different purpose from a retained cash balance or ordinary bank deposit.
Match cash support to the actual channel
A recipient collecting cash and a sender funding with cash are different tasks, even when both use a remittance company.
Western Union's app-to-agent flow supports the sender's visit, while Ria's Swedish app uses the offered card or mobile-payment funding.
FOREX provides a staffed Western Union service in its shops, with that counter's price separate from an online app quote.
I suggest choosing the receiving outlet around the recipient's access and identification, rather than the largest advertised network alone.
How to send money abroad through an app
Choose money or phone credit
Select the supported bank, wallet or cash route for money, or the actual phone operator when sending an airtime top-up.
Prepare your funding account
Pay from your own accepted Swedish bank account or card, completing the app's identity checks as well as the bank authorisation.
Review the receiving amount
Check the fee and exchange rate beside the final amount, including your remaining monthly allowance and any card-funding charge.
Keep the receipt and collection details
Save the confirmation and receiving instructions, then follow the payment status or share the required reference with your recipient.
Use the comparison form for your amount and destination, then select the funding and receiving route that fit your payment.
Compare transfers from Sweden
Enter your destination and amount to compare available SEK transfer fees, exchange rates and recipient amounts.
Our methodology & why trust us
I selected Sweden-eligible apps around Swedish bank funding, family recipient access, foreign balances and mobile payment management.
Our research checked current Swedish app listings, regulated services, local funding and live krona-origin transfer results.
I assessed account and recipient functions alongside exchange costs, plan allowances and the differences between online and agent channels.
We may earn commission from some companies, but commercial agreements do not determine my selection or opinions.
