If you already use DBS or POSB, DBS Remit keeps eligible foreign bank payments inside digibank without a separate transfer fee.

I suggest considering Remitly for a family payment needing cash or a mobile wallet, and OCBC for its supported Asian-wallet transfers.

Wise is a good fit when you also receive foreign income, while Revolut combines transfers with travel spending and card controls.

DBS Remit keeps eligible overseas payments inside digibank

DBS digibank lets you add the overseas recipient and arrange a payment under Pay and Transfer without opening another transfer account.

I think DBS Remit is worth considering when you already bank with DBS or POSB and the destination qualifies for its local-currency service.

It covers 19 currencies across eligible destinations, with no cable, handling or agent transfer fee on the Remit payment.

The quoted exchange rate still determines the foreign amount, and an ordinary non-Remit telegraphic transfer has a different fee structure.

Payments submitted before the applicable business cut-off can leave the same day, with the receiving bank's processing added afterwards.

My Account also holds SGD and 12 foreign currencies, so you can keep foreign money beside the same app's transfers.

Its linked Visa Debit can spend from 11 supported foreign wallets when the matching balance is sufficient, excluding CNH.

That makes DBS another option among multi-currency accounts in Singapore when you want bank deposits and travel spending together.

Online overseas payments have a SGD200,000 daily limit, with larger payments needing bank assistance rather than an unrestricted mobile order.

Wise lets you receive through supported foreign account details, hold the currency and use that balance for a later transfer or card payment.

I like that combination when you receive money from abroad and want to avoid converting it into SGD before spending the original currency again.

You can set up recipients and track payments in the app, with PayNow, linked-bank, debit-card or available-balance funding for SGD transfers.

Singapore-issued credit cards cannot fund Wise transfers, while debit-card funding has a SGD16,000 ceiling.

Scheduled payments need enough money in the selected currency, because Wise does not automatically draw from another currency balance.

Singapore personal scheduled payments must be below SGD5,000 each and total no more than SGD30,000 a year.

The separate SGD100,000 annual cap covers certain balance-funded sending and card activity, rather than every externally funded transfer.

The account has no mandatory monthly subscription, with conversion at the mid-market rate and a separate fee for the payment.

The physical card costs SGD8.50, while overseas ATM use above the SGD100 monthly allowance adds a 1.75% charge on the excess.

The SGD1,000 and SGD10,000 quotes show Wise’s conversion fee and recipient amount across the selected currencies, beside the delivery estimate.

4.5/5 (4.1m+ reviews)

Revolut lets you exchange and hold supported currencies, manage the recipient and follow a bank transfer beside your card activity.

I suggest considering it when overseas payments are part of a wider travel account, rather than the only feature you need.

You can use supported receiving details and keep foreign money for later spending, with virtual or physical card controls in the app.

Standard has no monthly subscription and a SGD5,000 monthly exchange allowance, followed by a 1% charge above that allowance.

An additional 1% applies outside foreign-exchange market hours, while international bank-transfer fees appear separately in the quote.

Bank funding is free, but after the first free card top-up, local Visa debit funding costs 0.30% and local Mastercard debit funding 0.51%.

That funding difference makes a bank transfer more appealing when you do not need the money available through a card immediately.

Premium costs SGD10.99 monthly and raises the exchange allowance to SGD15,000, so I'd say assess the subscription against the currency conversion you regularly use.

These quotes put Revolut’s transfer cost beside the recipient amount, while your account’s used exchange allowance and funding choice remain separate cost factors.

Instarem adds linked-bank funding to its Singapore app

Available on

iOS and Android

App store rating

4.2/5 (1.4k+ ratings)

Google play rating

4.2/5 (10k+ reviews)

Instarem's Singapore app can link a bank account for payment, a funding option unavailable through its website.

I like that distinction for repeat bank-funded transfers, because the app does more than reproduce the online rate calculator.

You can also pay through PayNow or supported debit and credit cards, with the funding choice changing the final quote.

PayNow has a SGD200,000 daily funding limit, while card funding is capped at SGD20,000 through Instarem.

The app handles recipient setup and tracking, with Help Centre chat or tickets when a payment needs support.

Rate Watch can email you when a selected currency pair reaches your chosen level, rather than guaranteeing that rate for a later payment.

An accepted transfer quote has a limited funding window, and an unfunded expired request is cancelled.

The conversion rate includes a margin, while transfer and funding charges depend on the actual payment method.

I suggest using the full recipient amount to compare card funding with linked-bank or PayNow payment, including any issuer charge on a credit card.

Instarem’s examples show the quoted fee and conversion alongside the cheapest payment method, helping you assess its bank and card funding choices.

Available on

iOS and Android

App store rating

4.8/5 (5.3k+ ratings)

Google play rating

4.7/5 (1.6m+ reviews)

Remitly is my pick when a family recipient needs supported cash collection or a mobile wallet instead of a foreign bank payment.

You choose the receiving method in the app, save the recipient and follow the transfer's status and delivery notices after sending.

The recipient does not need a Remitly account, which helps when you are supporting somebody who uses a local bank or wallet.

Singapore funding includes supported debit and credit cards, with Apple Pay and Google Pay available through eligible payment methods.

The destination and funding method determine the fee, conversion and arrival estimate, rather than a universal delivery time for every order.

Credit-card issuer charges can add to the total, and an introductory offer is separate from the regular price for repeat transfers.

I'd say choose the receiving method before paying, because cash, wallet and bank delivery can change the quote.

The selected SGD1,000 and SGD10,000 quotes show Remitly’s fee and conversion beside delivery estimates for those destinations.

OCBC pays supported Asian wallets from your bank account

OCBC's Pay to Wallet lets you send from an SGD deposit account to named wallets across China, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Vietnam.

Options include GCash, Touch ’n Go, DANA, MoMo, Alipay and Weixin, which gives the banking app a different use from a standard bank wire.

You enter the recipient's required identifier and review the payment in OCBC, without first funding a separate remittance wallet.

I like it for a supported wallet recipient when you already bank with OCBC and the amount meets the destination minimum.

Those minimums include MYR960 for Malaysia and PHP9,600 for the Philippines, making the feature unsuitable for very small top-ups.

OCBC has no Pay to Wallet transfer fee, but currency conversion affects the amount received and an Indonesian wallet operator can deduct a charge.

Alipay recipients need a Chinese Mainland Resident Identity Card, while a Weixin recipient needs the relevant receiving activation and verification.

You can submit around the clock, although recipient activation and processing still determine when the money becomes available.

Western Union gives you PayNow funding and cash collection

Available on

iOS and Android

4.7/5 (5.8k+ ratings)

4.7/5 (5.6k+ reviews)

Western Union's Singapore app supports PayNow, bank and card funding, with cash collection among its destination-specific receiving choices.

You can use Myinfo and Singpass for eligible verification, then save the recipient and follow the payment with its MTCN.

I think it is worth considering when the recipient needs cash and you want to fund from a familiar local payment method.

The app also keeps transfer history and repeat sending, with an agent finder for collection or a payment needing a visit.

Starting an order digitally and paying in store remains a separate choice from fully funding the transfer on your phone.

The quoted fee can differ by payment method, and Western Union earns through currency conversion even when the sending fee is waived.

Card-issuer or other third-party charges can add to the cost, so I'd say assess the recipient amount for the exact receiving option.

Western Union is worth it

SingX lets you manage your bank-funded payments on your phone

Available on

iOS and Android

App store rating

2.3/5 (189 ratings)

Google play rating

2.1/5 (311+ reviews)

SingX's app provides live rates, transactions and account management, but new registration starts through the website.

I suggest using it for mobile management if you already have a verified SingX account, rather than choosing it for entirely app-based onboarding.

You fund through your own bank, PayNow or an available SingX wallet, with the required reference linking the funding to the order.

The wallet has a SGD5,000 holding limit, which is separate from eligibility for a larger externally funded payment.

Transfers pay a supported foreign bank account, rather than provide a cash-collection service for the recipient.

Signup is free, while the sending fee and exchange rate are quoted for the destination and amount.

Already processed transfers cannot be cancelled, so I'd say check the beneficiary and quote before funding the request.

SingX is worth it

OFX combines mobile tracking with support for a larger bank payment

Available on

iOS and Android

App store rating

4.7/5 (63 ratings)

Google play rating

4.2/5 (4.1k+ reviews)

OFX lets you register, check currency trends and arrange a bank transfer in the app, with tracking through the app or SMS.

I suggest considering it for a planned larger payment when phone support helps with funding and recipient-bank details.

The Singapore service provides round-the-clock help, so the mobile order does not leave you relying only on an automated status message.

You fund through a bank and pay a supported foreign bank account, without assuming a card or cash-funded option.

The exchange quote and any transfer charge determine the cost, while correspondent or receiving-bank deductions can reduce the amount delivered.

I suggest comparing the quoted recipient amount at your actual payment size, rather than choosing a larger-transfer service solely because it has an app.

The OFX figures show its quoted cost and delivery for SGD1,000 and SGD10,000, which helps assess whether it fits your payment size.

Cheapest apps for sending from Singapore

DBS Remit removes its eligible transfer charges, while Wise uses a separate conversion fee and Revolut adds allowance and funding rules to the decision.

For a cash or wallet recipient, I'd say compare the receiving option first, because a bank-only result does not meet the same need.

These cheapest international money transfer apps in Singapore can change by amount, funding method and destination, even when you keep using the same app.

PayNow, linked bank or card funding

PayNow can fund an overseas transfer through apps such as Wise and Western Union, but it does not make the foreign delivery a domestic PayNow payment.

Instarem adds linked-bank funding inside its Singapore app, while a bank-funded Revolut top-up avoids the Standard debit-card surcharge.

I suggest choosing the funding method alongside the arrival estimate, because card payment can change the price without guaranteeing immediate recipient access.

For a domestic SGD transfer, your normal bank app and local PayNow payment may be enough.

Sending money to an overseas wallet

OCBC's named-wallet feature can suit a larger payment from your bank, while its destination minimums rule it out for small top-ups.

Remitly and Western Union offer different destination-specific receiving choices, so the exact wallet and registered recipient identifier need to match the order.

A supported wallet deposit is different from sending to any phone number, or asking the recipient to open the same transfer app.

Recurring payments and account limits

Wise scheduled transfers need sufficient money in the chosen currency, with separate Singapore limits on each payment and the annual scheduled total.

Revolut's exchange allowance is shared across eligible conversion activity, so travel spending and earlier exchanges can change the cost of your next transfer.

A bank's online overseas limit is also separate from the amount held in a wallet, which changes how you arrange a larger payment.

I'd say prepare verification and the beneficiary before a deadline, rather than rely on an unfinished new account for the urgent transfer.

How to send money abroad through an app

Choose the receiving method

Select the foreign bank, cash outlet or supported wallet your recipient needs, then choose an app that can deliver it.

Prepare the account and beneficiary

Complete the identity checks and enter the required recipient details, including any separate wallet activation or account-linking step.

Review funding and the total cost

Choose PayNow, bank, card or an available balance, then check the fee, conversion and recipient amount before paying.

Follow the payment to the recipient

Keep the receipt or tracking reference and check the arrival estimate until the recipient can use the money.

Use the comparison form for your destination and amount, then select the app and receiving method that fit the payment.

Compare transfers from Singapore

Enter your destination and amount to compare available SGD transfer fees, exchange rates and recipient amounts.

Our methodology & why trust us

I selected Singapore-eligible mobile apps around bank funding, foreign balances and recipient delivery, rather than treat every overseas payment as the same task.

Our research checked current Singapore app listings, local entities, mobile functions, funding rules and current SGD transfer results.

I assessed recipient management and additional account features alongside conversion costs, subscriptions and the restrictions that affect repeat payments.

We may earn commission from some companies, but commercial agreements do not determine my selection or opinions.

Our review process explains how we assess transfer companies and their services.
