Atlantic Money's €3 standard fee makes it a strong option for larger bank payments in supported currencies, including transfers from euros into pounds.

For family support to Morocco or Francophone Africa, I suggest choosing the lowest total cost for the receiving method your recipient uses.

Revolut can also suit a small weekday exchange within your allowance, while an ordinary euro payment within SEPA may already cost nothing through your French bank.

I'd say use a fixed-fee bank service for a supported larger payment, then compare remittance apps separately when the recipient needs cash or a wallet.

Atlantic Money

Atlantic Money keeps the standard transfer fee at €3

Atlantic Money charges €3 for a standard transfer and passes through its institutional exchange rate without an exchange-rate markup.

That gives a bank payment a fixed sending cost, which becomes a smaller percentage of the amount when you send more money.

The €3 fee represents 0.6% of €500 or 0.06% of €5,000, before any separate charges from a bank involved in your payment.

I think it is worth considering for moving euro savings into a British account, provided the recipient can wait for the standard delivery option.

Express delivery adds 0.1% to the base fee, meaning an additional €5 on a €5,000 payment rather than the same fixed €3 cost.

At weekends, you can wait for the market to reopen without the weekend premium, or use the last available rate with an additional 0.1% charge.

Express requires the last-known-rate option while the market is closed, so choosing both can add both percentage charges to the standard fee.

I'd say avoid paying for those upgrades on a planned payment that has no urgent deadline, because they weaken the fixed-fee advantage.

The main limitation is coverage, since Atlantic Money cannot replace a cash-pickup service or send to every currency required for family support.

Its low standard fee is therefore relevant to a supported bank payment, rather than evidence that it is cheapest for a transfer to Senegal or Algeria.

Revolut

Revolut can reduce exchange costs on small weekday payments

Revolut's French Standard plan includes €1,000 of qualifying monthly exchange before a 1% fair-usage fee applies to exchange above the allowance.

Within an unused allowance, exchanging during the week avoids those additional exchange charges, although an external bank-transfer fee can still apply.

Revolut also sets its own exchange rate, so I suggest checking the recipient's final amount rather than treating the allowance as proof of a free payment.

An ordinary transfer to another Revolut user is different from an international payment to a bank, which can involve a separate fee and delivery route.

Other qualifying exchanges, including travel-related currency conversion, can consume your allowance before you arrange the transfer you have in mind.

Standard adds a 1% weekend exchange charge, so waiting until the working week can save €5 on a €500 conversion when the payment can wait.

That saving describes the weekend exchange charge alone, with the remaining transfer cost still depending on the currency and payment route.

A paid plan can increase your allowance, but I'd say include the subscription cost before upgrading mainly to reduce fees on one transfer.

Wise

Wise combines mid-market conversion with discounts on larger monthly volumes

Wise converts at the mid-market exchange rate and charges a separate fee, with the variable cost depending on the currencies and how you fund the payment.

I suggest checking bank funding before paying by card, because the quicker payment method can add a fee without improving onward delivery enough to justify it.

For a small bank deposit, compare the final foreign-currency amount against another provider's quote rather than judge Wise by its exchange rate alone.

Wise's euro volume discounts begin once completed qualifying conversions exceed €22,000 in a calendar month, with lower variable fees applying above the relevant thresholds.

That can improve the price when you move substantial savings, although the discount does not make every euro in a threshold-crossing transfer subject to one lower rate.

The allowance is cumulative monthly conversion volume, so splitting the same payment into several transfers does not create a separate discount advantage.

For a large payment, I suggest comparing the discounted Wise quote with Atlantic Money and a broker at the same time, using the same receiving currency.

Taptap Send

Taptap Send is worth pricing for repeat family payments

Taptap Send supports France-origin payments to eligible banks, wallets and cash locations, with the cost depending on the destination and receiving method.

Some transfers have no separate sending fee, while others carry a fee, and currency conversion can include an exchange-rate margin.

I'd say judge its price by the amount received for your family's usual payment, rather than assume that a zero-fee example applies to every destination.

The same sender amount can produce different costs when a recipient switches from a wallet deposit to cash collection or another receiving partner.

French funding supports eligible debit, credit and prepaid cards, including Cartes Bancaires, although your card issuer can add its own charge.

For repeated payments, I suggest using a funding method without an issuer surcharge and checking the standard price rather than relying on a temporary promotion.

In Senegal or Côte d'Ivoire, the official CFA parity does not remove the need to check the actual receiving amount and any wallet withdrawal fee.

If your recipient spends the balance directly, a wallet deposit can have a different total cost from depositing the same amount and then withdrawing cash.

Remitly

Remitly can lower the first payment's cost for eligible new customers

Remitly offers conditional introductory prices on eligible transfers, which can reduce the cost of an initial payment when the offer fits your destination and amount.

I'd say check the promotion's maximum amount and payment conditions, because the advertised discount may apply to only part of a larger transfer.

For later payments, use the normal exchange rate and fee rather than assume the first-transfer terms will continue each month.

Remitly also gives you receiving choices in supported destinations, allowing a bank, wallet or cash payment depending on the local partner.

Those choices have different costs, so a cheap bank-deposit quote is not equivalent to a cash payment your recipient can collect nearby.

From France, eligible card and bank funding are available, with the delivery estimate and charges depending on the options used for the transfer.

I suggest paying extra for faster funding only when the recipient needs the money sooner and the estimate confirms that the change improves delivery.

CurrencyFair

CurrencyFair's flat payout fee rewards fewer withdrawals

CurrencyFair combines its offered exchange rate with a €3-equivalent transfer fee, so both parts need including when deciding what the recipient receives.

A fixed payout fee takes a larger share of a small payment, which can make several separate withdrawals more expensive than one combined withdrawal.

Two €100 withdrawals each carrying a €3-equivalent fee would cost €6 in payout fees, compared with €3 for one €200 withdrawal.

That example describes the fixed fee alone, without assuming the exchange rate or any bank charge stays identical between different transactions.

I'd say use that structure for a supported bank payment when you can combine money intended for the same recipient and deadline, rather than delay essential family support.

France residents can use the personal transfer service, and our France-to-Britain and France-to-US checks returned CurrencyFair among the available bank-payment options.

The offered rate can include a margin, so a low withdrawal fee does not establish that the full conversion is cheaper than Wise or Atlantic Money.

For a very small payment, check a provider without the same flat payout charge, while keeping the destination and receiving method identical.

Currencies Direct

Currencies Direct quotes larger conversions without a separate personal transfer fee

Currencies Direct supports personal transfers from France, with most personal payments carrying no separate transfer fee and a margin included in the quoted exchange rate.

That means the receiving-currency amount is the price to judge, especially on a property sale where a small percentage difference can outweigh a fixed fee elsewhere.

I suggest getting a quote for the full amount rather than assuming a broker will beat an app because its service is aimed at larger payments.

Account-manager support can help coordinate funding and the receiving deadline, but I'd say compare the final amount with another available provider.

A forward contract lets eligible customers fix a rate for a later payment, which can stabilise a known budget when the transfer date is already planned.

It also creates a commitment, so I suggest confirming when your funds will become available before agreeing to the contract's payment requirements.

Separate bank charges can apply when you fund or receive the transfer, and those costs need including alongside the company's quoted conversion.

Other ways to reduce the cost from France

Existing Attijariwafa bank Europe customers

For eligible e-Attijari customers, Trans'compte web has no sending fee on payments up to €5,000 to its listed African destinations, excluding Comoros.

The eligible destinations include Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Mali, Côte d'Ivoire and Mauritania, with an annual €60,000 limit for this online account-debit transfer channel.

That makes it worth checking if you already use the service, although the rate and possible receiving-bank charges still affect the total cost.

I would not open a new bank account solely because a transfer's sending fee is zero, without including the account costs and receiving arrangements.

The zero-fee price applies to the specified online channel, while a cash transfer or another payment method has its own tariff.

Euro payments within SEPA

An ordinary online euro transfer within SEPA is often free through a French bank, although the account and payment channel determine whether a charge applies.

An instant euro payment cannot cost more than the corresponding ordinary SEPA payment, so speed does not automatically require a higher bank fee.

I'd say use that route for an eligible euro account before paying a currency-transfer service to move money that requires no conversion.

That does not establish the price for euros converted into another currency, which is the main decision for an overseas foreign-currency payment.

Paying with cash

Cash funding can add an agency or wallet top-up charge, while a recipient's cash collection or wallet withdrawal can create a separate cost at the receiving end.

Orange Money Europe supports loading cash at approved French points, while eligible Western Union agencies give you another cash-funded sending route.

I suggest checking the combined cost before using either, rather than treating the app's displayed sending fee as the entire price of a cash-to-cash payment.

For more detail on funding and receiving methods, see best international money transfer services in France rather than choosing solely from a cost ranking.

Confirm whether the recipient needs a bank deposit, wallet balance or cash, then compare companies that support that exact method.

Use the same total sender amount

Check whether the fee is included in the entered amount or added separately, so both quotes use the same total payment from you.

Include conversion and local charges

Compare the final amount received, then account for any funding-bank charge or wallet withdrawal fee that is separate from the quote.

Avoid paying for speed you do not need

Use a cheaper available funding or delivery option when the recipient can wait, while allowing enough time for verification and bank processing.

Check the repeat-transfer price

Use normal fees and rates for recurring support, because an introductory offer can lower one payment without making later transfers cheaper.

Our methodology & why trust us

I selected regulated services that support France-origin personal transfers, distinguishing fixed charges, exchange allowances and family-payment pricing instead of declaring one universal cheapest provider.

Our comparison components use available corridor prices, while the reviews explain extra costs such as weekend exchange charges and recipient wallet withdrawals.

Live availability checks covered eight destinations, with the automatic comparison showing available providers rather than restricting the results to this editorial shortlist.
