For a euro payment to another SEPA account, I suggest starting with your existing German bank.
For currency conversion, I'd say check Revolut within its weekday allowance, Atlantic Money for supported larger bank payments, and the live results for your destination.
Wise provides a clear-cost alternative, while Taptap Send and Remitly can be better suited to supported cash or wallet transfers.

Services outside these comparison results, including Atlantic Money, need a separate quote check for the same amount and currency.
Cheapest options for different transfers
I suggest choosing the service according to its cost structure, because the cheapest small payment can differ from the cheapest substantial conversion.

Revolut
Revolut suits small weekday conversions within your allowance
Revolut Standard includes €1,000 of monthly exchange allowance, which can keep the exchange charge down when you have not already used it.
For German-branch customers, the additional fair-use fee is 0.5% above that allowance, with a separate 1% weekend exchange fee possible.
For example, exchanging €3,000 with an unused allowance adds €10 in fair-use fees, before any international transfer charge.
I suggest counting card spending and earlier conversions when assessing your remaining allowance, rather than treating each transfer as a fresh €1,000 allowance.
A bank payment can still carry a separate fee, so the absence of an exchange charge does not guarantee a free transfer.
Revolut's own rate also needs to be included in the comparison against another company's final recipient amount.
I'd say consider Standard for a planned smaller conversion when the app's full quote is competitive and you already use the account.
For one larger payment, add any paid-plan subscription and cancellation costs before deciding that upgrading saves money.
Atlantic Money charges €3 for a standard transfer with no exchange-rate markup, making the fee proportionally smaller as the amount increases.
That €3 represents 0.3% of €1,000 and 0.03% of €10,000, before any optional faster-delivery or weekend charges.
I suggest checking it early for a larger bank payment in one of its supported currencies, especially when a percentage fee grows with the amount.
The service has a narrower currency range than Wise, so a strong price is useful only if it can pay your destination account.
You fund the transfer from a supported bank account, which rules it out when you need to pay cash or arrange a wallet payout.
Standard delivery needs some lead time, while faster delivery and choosing a fixed weekend rate can add charges to the basic fee.
You can also choose the next available market rate without the weekend charge, although the final rate is then determined when markets reopen.
For a payment with a fixed deadline, compare the complete price for that delivery option rather than rely on the €3 headline.
In my opinion, you should consider the standard service for a planned supported transfer, because rushing it can reduce the fixed-fee advantage.
Wise
Wise makes it easy to judge the full conversion cost
Wise uses the mid-market exchange rate and a separate fee, so the quote shows how much the currency conversion and payment will cost.
I find that useful when a competing service advertises a free transfer but offers a weaker exchange rate.
The fee varies with the currency, amount and funding method, so there is no single percentage that describes every payment from Germany.
I suggest checking bank funding first, since paying by card can add a charge without improving the overall price.
A connected bank payment is available for eligible German accounts, with your bank's payment limit affecting the amount you can fund.
Wise also applies volume discounts above monthly thresholds, with qualifying transfers and conversions accumulating across the same calendar month.
I'd say consider Wise when its final recipient amount is competitive and the clear fee is more useful than negotiating a separate exchange quote.
It does not provide the cash collection needed by some recipients, so compare it only against services that can meet your actual receiving requirement.
Taptap Send is useful for supported wallet payments where you want the recipient to receive money without arranging a bank withdrawal first.
Some destinations have no separate sending fee, while others charge one, with conversion costs also reflected in the exchange rate.
I suggest comparing the final wallet credit and any withdrawal charge, because a zero sending fee can still leave the recipient paying to access the money.
Germany supports eligible card funding and Klarna, with available bank-payment options depending on the transfer.
Check the full funding cost before choosing a card, especially if your card issuer treats the payment differently from a normal purchase.
For regular support payments, the repeat-transfer price is more useful than an introductory offer that applies only once.
The standard €10,000 rolling 30-day limit can also affect a large one-off payment, with lower wallet or destination limits possible.
I'd say consider it for the supported wallet or local receiving option when that access and the final quote beat a bank transfer.
An eligible first-transfer offer can improve Remitly's price, which makes it useful for a new customer sending to a supported destination.
Check whether the offer changes the fee, exchange rate or both, and whether it applies to your full amount.
I suggest taking a good introductory deal when the recipient can use the available collection method, then reassess the ordinary price for later transfers.
Bank deposit, cash collection and supported wallets can have different costs, so select the actual receiving method before judging the offer.
Where Economy and Express are available, waiting longer can improve the price compared with the faster service.
The tables below use Economy results, which means their price and timing should not be applied to a separately quoted Express payment.
Funding choices depend on the transfer, including supported cards, digital wallets and bank-payment services for German customers.
For ongoing monthly payments, in my opinion, you should prioritise the strongest repeat quote over a first-transfer saving that disappears after the first payment.
I suggest requesting a Regency FX quote for a large payment
For a substantial transfer, a small difference in the exchange rate can outweigh the visible sending fee.
Regency FX provides an individually agreed quote and an account manager, which is useful when you want to discuss the price and payment timing together.
Ask for the final recipient amount, including any known intermediary or receiving-bank charges, before comparing it with a self-service quote.
The usual starting amount is £2,000 or equivalent, although smaller payments can be discussed individually.
I suggest considering it for a larger planned payment when its complete quote is competitive and the support helps coordinate the transaction.
A fixed future rate can give you budget certainty, but it can cost more than a later spot conversion if the market moves in your favour.
Check the deposit and cancellation conditions before agreeing to that arrangement, rather than treat the current spot quote as its full cost.
Your German bank can be cheapest for euro transfers
For a EUR payment to another eligible SEPA account, I suggest starting with the bank account you already use.
There is no currency conversion when the receiving account keeps euros, and the applicable cross-border EUR charge follows the domestic equivalent in the EU.
Instant EUR transfers from euro-area banks cannot cost more than equivalent standard transfers, so a faster payment does not automatically require an extra fee.
But a EUR payment to an account holding PLN or RON can leave conversion to the receiving bank, at its own rate.
Compare that bank conversion with a local-currency payment before treating the SEPA sending fee as the full cost.
Payment
Cost to check
EUR to an eligible EUR SEPA account
Your bank's EUR transfer fee
EUR to a foreign-currency account
Sending fee and recipient bank conversion
Specialist local-currency payment
Fee, exchange-rate margin and funding charge
Cash or wallet payment
Sending cost and recipient withdrawal charges
For a Turkish EUR account, confirm whether the company can deliver euros without converting them into lira first.
An EUR-to-TRY quote is a different product from keeping the payment in euros, even if both reach the same bank.
Four costs I suggest checking before you send
The sending fee
Compare the fee for your actual amount and receiving method, including whether an introductory discount will still apply next month.
The exchange-rate margin
A weaker rate reduces the recipient's amount, even when the sending fee is zero or looks lower than another service.
The funding charge
Card funding, card-issuer fees or an international deposit charge can increase the amount leaving your account before the recipient receives anything.
The receiving charge
A bank or wallet withdrawal fee can reduce the amount available for spending, which is especially relevant when the recipient needs cash.
For reference, a 1% exchange-rate margin represents €10 on €1,000 and €100 on €10,000 before other fees.
I'd say compare the final usable amount instead of choosing the company with the smallest number beside its transfer fee.
How to get a cheaper transfer
Set the receiving currency and method
Confirm whether the recipient wants local currency, euros or a wallet credit, then compare services that can deliver that result.
Use the same total EUR budget
Include the fee and funding cost in each quote, so the recipient amounts describe the same total expense.
Check the normal price as well as the offer
Use a first-transfer promotion when it saves money, but check the ordinary price before relying on it for recurring payments.
Choose economical funding and timing
Check bank funding and weekday exchange first, allowing enough time to avoid paying extra for a rushed payment.
