Table of Contents
Wise is my top pick for most SGD bank transfers because PayNow funding is familiar and the fee sits separately from its mid-market exchange rate.
Instarem gives Singapore residents more card-funding choice, while DBS Remit keeps eligible overseas payments inside an existing DBS or POSB account.
Choose around the recipient first, because Remitly and Western Union cover cash or wallet delivery that a standard bank transfer cannot replace.

Wise
I’d start with Wise for PayNow funding and a clearly separated conversion fee.
Singapore residents can fund in SGD through PayNow, a linked bank account, debit card or Wise balance, but Singapore-issued credit cards cannot fund transfers.
Wise uses the mid-market rate and adds a separate fee, making the exchange cost easier to inspect than a transfer advertised with no fee.
The per-transfer maximum can reach SGD2 million depending on the funding method, while card funding has a much lower SGD16,000 limit.
The SGD100,000 annual cap covers certain balance-funded transfers and card spending, while externally funded bank, debit-card and PayNow transfers are excluded.
FAST funding can reach Wise in about 15 minutes, but that is only the funding stage and the overseas delivery estimate remains destination-specific.
The tables below show Wise quotes for common destinations at SGD1,000 and SGD10,000, with the values updating through scheduled data.

Instarem
Instarem accepts Singapore-issued cards alongside PayNow and bank transfers.
PayNow or bank funding can give a different final cost, so compare the payment methods before choosing the card option.
PayNow funding has an SGD200,000 daily limit, while debit and credit card funding is capped at SGD20,000 through Instarem.
Instarem applies no service sending limit to bank transfers, but destination rules, account checks and your bank limit can still reduce the available amount.
Recipients receive local currency into a supported foreign bank account, which makes this a digital bank-deposit option rather than a cash service.
Check the fee, exchange rate and recipient amount after selecting the payment method, because the cheapest funding option can change between transfers.

DBS Remit
DBS Remit suits DBS or POSB customers sending to its eligible local-currency destinations.
It covers 19 currencies and more than 50 destinations through digibank, with eligible payments sent out the same day when submitted before the cut-off.
The recipient bank may still need processing time, so a same-day departure does not guarantee same-day arrival.
DBS charges no transfer fee on DBS Remit and locks the displayed exchange rate, but the rate still determines how much reaches your recipient.
Preferential exchange rates apply automatically from SGD50,000, excluding Mainland China, which can make a larger DBS quote more useful than its standard rate.
Transfers above SGD200,000 require a branch, while daily overseas limits and beneficiary controls can affect smaller payments inside digibank.
Use the separate outward telegraphic transfer route when DBS Remit does not support the destination, allowing for handling and possible agent-bank deductions.
OFX
I’d consider OFX for larger bank-funded transfers with phone support and no company maximum.
Below SGD10,000, the SGD15 transfer fee adds 1.5% to a SGD1,000 payment before any exchange-rate difference.
OFX removes that transfer fee from SGD10,000 and imposes no maximum, although your bank can still restrict the payment used to fund it.
Funding must come from your bank account, with no cash or card option, and the recipient receives money through a bank account.
Major-currency transfers usually take one to two business days after OFX receives your funds, while less common currencies can take longer.
I would choose OFX when I wanted help arranging a large payment, then judge its exchange rate against Wise or DBS before booking.
Singapore customers can use spot transfers, limit orders and regular transfers, while forward contracts are unavailable through the local OFX service.
At SGD10,000, the exchange rate becomes the main price difference because OFX no longer charges its SGD15 transfer fee.

Revolut
Revolut combines international transfers, travel spending and several currency balances in one account.
Standard customers can exchange SGD5,000 each month before a 1% fair-usage charge applies to the amount above that allowance.
An additional 1% applies outside foreign-exchange market hours, while Revolut's variable rate and any international transfer fee remain separate costs.
For example, exchanging SGD8,000 during market hours with the full allowance available adds SGD30 before any transfer fee or rate difference.
Here's what you can expect to receive from Revolut Standard when sending SGD abroad:

Singapore bank top-ups are free, while some card top-ups cost extra, so check the funding screen before loading money for a transfer.
I would use Revolut when its wider account is already useful, then inspect the recipient amount rather than treating the exchange allowance as a free transfer.
Remitly
Remitly handles cash collection and supported mobile wallets alongside bank deposits.
Singapore customers can pay using an eligible Visa or Mastercard debit or credit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Cash, wallet and bank delivery depend on the destination, so choose the required recipient method before judging the fee or arrival estimate.
You can send up to SGD130,000 per transfer, although your verification level, destination and delivery method can reduce that limit.
For repeat transfers, compare the ongoing rate and fee after any introductory offer ends, since the first-transfer price can make the service look cheaper.
The table covers three common SGD1,000 destinations, while the live transfer flow confirms the available payout and payment choices for each recipient.

SingX
SingX supports high-value transfers funded through PayNow or a bank transfer.
Its personal outbound ceiling is SGD1 million, subject to the destination and customer checks, while the separate stored-wallet cap is only SGD5,000.
That difference makes direct PayNow or bank funding more useful than loading the wallet when your transfer exceeds its stored-value limit.
Include the unique reference when paying by bank transfer, because SingX needs it to match the SGD payment to your instruction.
You cannot cancel a processed payment, so check the beneficiary details before creating and funding the transfer.
The fee varies by sending and receiving country, so compare the displayed fee and exchange rate together before confirming your payment.
Western Union
Western Union lets you pay cash in Singapore or arrange overseas cash collection.
You can send online, in the app, at an agent or by starting online and paying at a Singapore location.
Payment can include cash, card or bank account depending on the channel, with bank, wallet or cash delivery available where the destination supports it.
This is what you will get with Western Union if sending money online, so expect in-person to be a bit more expensive:
SGD
Currency pair
They get (after fees)
Transfer fee
FX rate

Delivery time
No results, please ensure you have currencies selected
That flexibility helps when the recipient lacks a suitable bank account, but agent opening hours and identification can affect collection time.
Keep the MTCN until the recipient collects the money, and never share it with anyone who is not part of the transfer.
Western Union's fee and exchange rate vary with the funding and payout combination, so compare the exact cash route rather than an online bank quote.
OCBC Pay to Wallet
OCBC Pay to Wallet sends directly to eligible Alipay or Weixin Pay recipients in China.
The sender needs an OCBC SGD deposit account and app access, and the minimum China wallet transfer is CNY2,200.
OCBC converts the payment from an SGD current or savings account, while the wallet operator can apply its own beneficiary conditions or charges.
This route avoids asking the recipient for bank details, but it only works when the named wallet accepts that specific beneficiary and payment.
I would use it for a qualifying China wallet recipient, while Wise or DBS is more suitable when the payment must reach a bank account.
Cheapest international money transfer services in Singapore
Wise gives the clearest cost structure through its mid-market rate and separate fee, but another service can deliver more on a particular destination or amount.
Compare the same funding and recipient method in every quote, because card costs or cash delivery can distort an otherwise useful price comparison.
The comparison below covers six destinations at SGD1,000 and SGD10,000, with the lowest-cost available results selected automatically for each transfer.

DBS Remit's zero transfer fee can still lose value through its exchange rate, while OFX's SGD15 fee below SGD10,000 changes the small-transfer calculation.
Fastest international money transfer services in Singapore
DBS Remit is useful when you can meet its same-day sending cut-off, although the recipient bank may need additional processing time.
Service
Useful timing
What can extend it
DBS Remit
Sent out same day on eligible routes before cut-off
Recipient-bank processing, cut-off and beneficiary checks
OFX
Usually one to two business days after receiving funds for major currencies
Funding time, less common currencies and recipient bank
Wise
Quote supplied for the selected destination
Funding method, conversion and recipient route
Remitly
Estimate shown for the chosen delivery method
Payment review, payout method and recipient system
Western Union
Quote depends on the selected cash, bank or wallet route
Identification, agent hours and recipient action
PayNow can fund Wise, Instarem or SingX quickly, but fast domestic funding does not establish the overseas arrival time.
Our guide to the fastest ways to send money abroad from Singapore covers timing choices in more detail.
Easiest services for sending money abroad from Singapore
The easiest route usually starts with an account you already use and ends with the recipient method you already confirmed.

Best services for large transfers from Singapore
OFX is my pick for a large bank-funded payment when phone help is useful, while Wise and SingX support much higher amounts than their card or wallet limits.
Service
Relevant amount rule
Practical consequence
OFX
No company maximum and no transfer fee from SGD10,000
Bank limit and quote still apply
Wise
Up to SGD2 million depending on funding
Card funding remains capped at SGD16,000
SingX
Up to SGD1 million, subject to destination and checks
Fund directly rather than relying on the SGD5,000 wallet cap
DBS Remit
Branch required above SGD200,000
Arrange the larger payment before its deadline
Use the SGD10,000 tab in the cost comparison above for the same six destinations rather than assuming a specialist always beats a bank.
Complete source-of-funds checks early, since a high product ceiling does not guarantee that your full transfer amount will be approved automatically.
Practical checks before sending
Confirm the recipient's legal name, destination account or wallet details and required payout method before comparing the final quotes.
Payment institutions safeguard eligible customer money under Singapore rules, but their balances are not the same as SDIC-insured deposits held with a bank.
Use the official app or website, keep the receipt and contact the service quickly if the beneficiary or transfer status looks wrong.
How to send money abroad from Singapore
Choose the recipient method
Confirm whether your recipient needs a bank deposit, cash collection or credit to a specifically supported mobile wallet.
Check your payment option
Choose PayNow, bank transfer, card or cash only after confirming that your selected service supports it for the transfer.
Prepare the recipient details
Enter the legal name and requested account, bank, wallet or collection information exactly as the recipient confirms it.
Compare complete quotes
Check the SGD payment, transfer fee, exchange rate, recipient amount and delivery estimate using the same funding and payout methods.
Pay and track
Follow the verified payment instructions, then keep the receipt and tracking reference until the recipient confirms the full amount.
Choose the service that fits the recipient method, then use a current quote to check the full SGD cost before paying.
Compare money transfers from Singapore
Enter your destination and amount to compare the available rates for your SGD transfer.
Our methodology & why trust us
I selected these services around distinct Singapore-origin needs, including PayNow funding, larger bank payments, card funding, cash collection and named wallet delivery.
Our research checked local eligibility, funding methods, recipient options, costs, limits and timing conditions for each service.
Live values update weekly, while final costs and timing depend on the destination, amount, payment method, payout choice and customer checks.
We may earn commission from some companies, but commercial agreements do not influence their position or what I write about them.
Some services on the list are based on our research rather than internal testing.
