Revolut in New Zealand

With Revolut’s launch in New Zealand, users will be able to use the app for peer-to-peer payments, splitting bills, and foreign currency exchange. Besides, it will be possible to spend and send funds in over 200 currencies.

Late last year, Revolut’s CEO, Nik Storonsky highlighted the firm’s intentions of expanding into the European country. This is in addition to other nations like the Philippines and India. Besides, it is striving to increase the number of its users in Asia from 600,000 to 10 million by the end of 2025.

It has been successful in launching its offerings in New Zealand. In November 2022, the country joined other nations across the world in embracing open banking; a move that is set to benefit consumers and businesses as well.

In a press release, Revolut’s Head of New Zealand, Georgia Grange stated, “Revolut is thrilled to be launching in New Zealand to revolutionize the ways Kiwis manage their money, and our wait-list of over 260,000 locals is a clear demonstration that Kiwis feel the same. From digitizing the way they track their spending, to enhancing their global travel experience, Revolut will be the first of its kind for New Zealanders”.

Revolut’s entry into New Zealand comes about four months after the fintech company introduced its credit card in Ireland. It has over 2 million customers in the European country and is striving to ease the transfer and management of funds.

Since November 2022, Revolut has increased its customer base by over 5 million users from across the globe. On 1st June 2023, its retail customers surged past the 30 million mark.
