MangoPay a payment technology firm, has announced its acquisition of WhenThen. The payments operations platform, which was launched in December 2020, provides a no-code editor to facilitate payments in a typical e-commerce marketplace.

MangoPay’s latest acquisition

MangoPay’s acquisition of WhenThen is founded on its goal of availing its customers with payment solutions that are scalable and flexible. Besides, they are keen on ensuring platform businesses have control over their payment systems.

In a press release, Mangopay’s CEO Romain Mazeries stated, “As the platform economy continues to grow, creating amazing payment experiences remain a key factor for our customers and prospects. Acquiring WhenThen enables Mangopay to rapidly accelerate its payment capabilities whilst providing the best payment experiences in the market”.

MangoPay is a payment technology provider for marketplaces and platforms that is based in Luxembourg, Europe. It focuses on availing a flexible and white-label solution for its customers in a way that facilitates them to customize their payment flow. This also includes setting up eWallets that allow for the management of payment splits and the use of escrow accounts.

Notably, MangoPay’s decision to buy WhenThen comes barely six months after its last acquisition. In November 2022, it purchased Poland-based anti-fraud technology company, Nethone.

Besides, it recently stated its intent to employ an additional 250 workers by the end of 2023. It has already hired 100 new employees. This is as the company reports a YOY growth of 35% and has onboarded 243 new customers year-to-date. Besides, its total transaction value for 2022 was 11.3 billion euros.
