Airtime top-up
An airtime top-up is a direct phone reload service where customers send airtime credit online to the recipient’s phone. The reload is instant and can be for any amount. Money transfer service providers such as Xoom, partner with international airtime remittance providers like TransferTo to reload mobile phones.
To send the top up, a customer only needs the beneficiary’s mobile number. Using cutting-edge technology, the airtime remittance service autodetects the carrier and sends the top-up instantly. Typically, an online money transfer service provider works with specific carriers in different countries.
When the airtime is credited to the recipient’s mobile phone, they receive a text message informing them of the top-up.
